his medical interests

Dr. Critides has professional interests in neurologic trauma surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, motion preserving spine surgery, complex and deformity spine and neurooncology. He is an Advanced Trauma Life Support provider, instructor and State Faculty; having been State Faculty for ATLS for over 10 years.   He believes in working closely with other members of the Trauma Team to provide comprehensive neurotrauma care.  He is experienced in minimally invasive spine surgery and motion preserving techniques like percutaneous vertebral augmentation and cervical arthroplasty (disk replacement). He started and lead a Neurosurgical Tumor Board at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola from 2014-2017,  serving as the Medical Director of the Gamma Knife Program.  He is committed to patient welfare, balancing conservative treatment with optimizing surgical outcomes. Although some conditions may need immediate treatment, Dr. Critides is committed to doing what is in the patient’s interest. Doing “the right thing” with regards to cancer requires working closely with Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology to rapidly establish a diagnosis and coordinating a treatment strategy, and then moving expeditiously to the best treatment available, whether that is chemotherapy, radiotherapy and/or surgery.
